Is a tutor a good idea?
That depends. tutoring can be expensive. Have you tried all other supports available to you first?
Most schools will offer some form of study support and that is a good place to start.
Virtual Physics can help explain some of the concepts you might be experiencing problems with.
e-Sgoil have an excellent study support offering delivered free online.
Scholar is an excellent resource from Heriot Watt university available for free to anybody enrolled in a certificate course in Scotland – you just need your Glow log in.
Some people will find that the existing supports arent enough or just benefit from 1:1 teaching rather than the group instruction that happens in classes. If that is the case, tutoring may be appropriate.
Tutoring
I offer online tutoring via Teams to students from anywhere in Scotland. I have 10+ years teaching Physics at National 3, National 4, National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher levels. I also have current experience of being a marker for the SQA exam and project.
Rates are £35 per hour.
Please use the contact page to get in touch for a regular weekly slot. If you wish to book a one-off session, you can do so through my booking page.
If you attend Forres Academy, please do not attempt to book tutoring – just get yourself along to one of the department study sessions. Details of current supported study sessions are on the school website.
